Originally launched in Dublin, Ireland back in 2015, Illustration Workshop has hosted various workshops around illustration and concept art primarily as in-person events.
After a few years hiatus, Illustration Workshop is back! And it is now brought to you as an online mentorship program by studio Rúcach. As it's a brand new initiative launching in August of 2024 by artist & owner of Rúcach, Denman Rooke, he is currently the only artist providing mentorship. But as the initiative grows more professional artists will be recruited to join the ranks of instructors & mentors in the future.
DENMAN ROOKE
Denman Rooke is an illustrator, concept artist, and art director based in Galway, Ireland working professionally in entertainment & games since 2007. His art can be found in Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder RPG, The Stormlight Archive RPG, and Behind the Scenes in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. In addition to years of full-time freelance work, Denman has also worked full-time in the video game industry in small, mid-sized, and AAA studios with publishers such as Paradox Interactive, Scopely, and Tencent.
